Lets say an opposite gender (NON RELATIVE AND OR GAY) buys your SO a necklace or watch, would you let your SO wear it at all?

EDIT!

depends on who he is. If he is gay or a relative I think its OK, otherwise no.

i wouldn't forbid her not to wear it... i'd express my opinion about how i didn't exactly like the situation, but she's a grown up. she can make her own decisions.

Let? You might re-evaluate your expectations in a relationship.
Exactly.

It sounds as if the OP is having a competitor. IMHO, it would be a good time to reassess the relationship and changes in the OP attitude as well as expectations.

I voted #3 so it's not like I actually have any authority on the mater. However I would like to think that I'm the type of person who doesn't "let" or "not let" my SO wear whatever they like. If it became an issue I would talk to them bout it and if it became obvious that there were relationship issues one would take it from there. The concept of not letting them wear something sounds hyper protective / controlling / aggressive (not me).

I definitely wouldn't be wild about a necklace.

I don't really think watches are as, I don't know, relationshippy for guys though, are they? I'm not a watch guy.

edit: Or I guess you meant buy the girl a watch, I guess that wouldn't really bother me.

I voted 3 but I would probably just talk with my SO about how I see the gift as more than a gift and see the reaction.

Seeing as how only 2.7% of ATOT members even have an SO, I think the poal may be skewed.

Depends. Lots of girls / guys have close friends of the opposite gender and are completely platonic. Maybe they're childhood friends and they've never had a thing for each other. It would be like getting jewelry from a family member at that point /shrug

If it's not the above scenario or something like it, it might be a little suspect...

If my wife of 18 years suddenly had some other dude giving her gifts I'd be fucking concerned. No question about it.
