Hello

Sorry if this had been said before but I kinda looked around and didn't see anything that would help me.

I am trying to get my daughters computer connected to the web and I am not having any good of luck right now 🙂

In my house I have two computers mine (see systems specs) and my daughters computer, which is:

AMD MSI-mobo,
AMD1700+cpu
512megs DDR
10 gig HDD
WinME

Here is what I purchased to do this:

<LINKSYS>
Wireless - B broadband router model: BEFW11S4 (on my machine)

<LINKSYS>
Wireless - B USB network adapter ver.2.8 model: WUSB11 (daughters machine)

I have installed them both and I can access the web with mine with no problems but I cannot get the web on my daughters.

Here is what I get when I click on the WUSB11-icon in the system tray (daughters system)

* you are connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found *

without he stars though 🙂

BTW, I am using "Infrastructure Mode" on my daughters computer, is this right ????

Thanks for helping.........TP

this is a guess from a guy who doesnt do wireless.

that being said, do you have internet connection sharing setup on your PC? it seems that your dghtr's pc has gotten the reciever, but your notallowing her to access the internt, if your running XP then run the conection wizard agin and make sure you aloow your pc to share it, so hers can access it.

Running the Network Wizard Multiple times is a BAD IDEA.

Could be that your Wireless USB is out of range, or and the Network configuration on the second computer is faulty.

I would put the second computer near the first one. If the Wireless is not working from close by then connect the computer to the Router with a CAT5 cable and make sure that you have Connection similar to the first computer.

Once you can Surf through a cable Set the Wireless in the same room if it works in the same room and will not work in daughter room than you have distance problem.

Log to this page you will find a lot of links for settings and Sharing issues.
