What does someone here know about installing Redhat on a Nforce Asus motherboard?

I installed windows to make sure the system worked so I know it runs.

Now I removed windows and am trying to run Redhet 7.3 and when it didn't take I tried ver 7.2 and it didn't take and had basicly the same message problems.

One problem I run into is that Redhat doesn't autodetect the video so what do I set that to I have tried it different ways and it I can't get the combination right or something.
An example of this is when you press the button to test the video output you would like it shows a black screen.
My monitor is a Viewsonic P810-4.

Now another problem is that when I try and start the OS it says can't load into memory and gives some errors and a code ummm 24 I think.

If I can get this computer running it will be a 1600+ on the DF

Other options are open to suggtestion of using a different Linux type since I have only seen Redhat in any depth, as long as it is known to work with this motherboard.

For the video problem, you probably need to download more current drivers from NVidia.

The other problem I will think about some more, but right now I have to go to work.

thanks

how do I install it? or integrate it into Linux Redhat?
Newbie. I'm just getting to dislike XP so much and activation and cost etc. Usual stories.

The problem isn't so much Linux but .X.. I don't remember which X version is used on RH 7.2 or 7.3 (I'm currently typing this post on RH 7.3 but with an ancient video card), but the latest - X 4.2, lists this for Nvidia (X 4.1 looks like it shows similar support).

You mobo is supposed to have geforce 2 video integrated, where the geforce 2 is supported by the SVGA server in X.

I noticed that on Tom's hardware, their review included doing a compile test using SuSE 7.3 (kernel 2.4.13) on that motherboard (same nvidia chipset). Mention is here.

Looks like linux drivers (and docs) are here as rpms. You would pick the appropriate RPM for whichever distro you have. You can install by doing a "rpm - i [nameoffile.rpm] at a terminal prompt.

[EDIT - the above drivers are for that chipset and hopefully will help take care of the video issue too but I'm not sure.]
