i got a tape here full of PDFs that needs to be restored, but backup (windows backup, in administrative tools, which we used to back the data up) is having a hard time reading a catalog of the tape (so i can't pick individual files and folders to restore).
i don't need to pick and choose which folders i need, i basically need everything i can get off this tape.
is there some sort of "raw dump" app that i can use to just say "take anything and everything off this tape, and put it in this folder on my HD"?
windows or linux apps are welcome... we just don't want to pay some data recovery firm some ridiculous price if we can do ourselves what they'd be doing anyway....
