I am trying to help someone that has some virus problems. I am looking for downloadable programs that I can burn onto a CD and take with me to clean the harddrive.

Here are some of the problems I have know about.

1) The anti-virus software McAffe (sp) has been disabled by this virus, and will not run.

2) On startup and shutdown the printer prints junk.

I have downloaded the Cleaner, FixKLEZ, Fix Bugbear.

I know there is "Panda" anti-virus cleaner anyone have the URL?

I also need to find a program that can make a boot disk for WIN95.

Thanks for your help

AVG rules as a antivirus.
i use it, and so do several of my friends, and were all pleased with it.
Free DL
Free Updates
Good Feature Set.

Another vote for AVG.

That said, some persistent viri may need to be formatted away.

Norton Anti-Virus is the best and has easilty the best support, they also have an online documentation of EVERY virus and ways of getting rid of them. http://www.symnatec.com , and you don't need to install NAV to use the tools to kill the virus' so you'll be fine :)

When I go in to clean up a customer's computer -- assuming they can get to the internet -- I tend to use HouseCall. It's an online scanner from Trend and it's always up-to-date. But, this obviously won't work if they can't get to the internet..

The problem with a burned copy is that it's only good right now -- it won't be any good a week from now when the next virus comes out.

:Q I was just about to reformat because AVG would find the Trojan: "Back Door NetDevil" but would not isolate it:( Downloaded Avast Pro Trial version and it quickly found it and isolated it,now my system is back to normal from a variety of wierd sability issues:D The Avast Home version is free but I haven't tried it yet but will:cool:
