I love my samsung 32, its a LOW end 360 series TV 720p. But perfect for the size of the room and at the price tag of $350 or so at black friday it was the deal.

I'm in similar situations again. I know prices and technology is always changing. Here is what i need now, you guys were such great help before i had to ask again.

looking for a $400-500 ish TV. Its a bedroom with a lot of light, most likely plasma are out of the question. Size i would like something a 37-42 but anything bigger then a 32 would be decent. This one is will be wall mounted. From the bed its about 7-8 feet, view from straight ahead. Not watching blu-rays so 720/1080 doesn't matter too much.

Main use is TV watching and video streaming from the ps3. I like how my samsung and ps3 pair up nicely. Looking to pull the trigger within 2 week spand.

this is a little bit out of my budget but no tax/ free shipping kinda makes it break even.

nope... most likely i will not/ plan to stream/play or anything in 1080. I haven't swapped over to blu rays. I dont subscribe to the HD optional channels with my comcast. Most of my streaming is TV shows, and other items.

Shop around at your local stores before you buy online. You might be able to find an open box deal or something similar.

I don't know if I could order a TV off the internet, personally. It's just something that I need to see in person to judge the quality before I purchase it. Perhaps if I had seen a model in a store and found a cheaper price online, but the online vendor would have to have a really good return policy.

Best buy and Sears have the same TV for $540. If you're willing to pay $10 more, you won't have to wait for it to ship, you can get the piece of mind of having seen it in store, and you can take it back for an immediate replacement if something goes wrong within the return period.

:EDIT: I guess I didn't factor in tax.. 🙁 The TV will probably cost around $570 with tax, so it's up to you

Do those 10%-off mover's coupons work on TVs? If so, then go get a mover's packet at your local post office, and buy the TV at Best Buy for $486 before tax.

If the TV is on sale at Best Buy, then they might not accept the coupon (but it's worth a shot anyways). I can't see the TV on Best Buy's website, because it's down right now.

They are for regular priced items only.....

mainly the reason why.

now a days most of my stuff if i can wait a bit, its bought online. I have sales tax of 10.25% in IL ( which is rape but thats another story) Will definately look at it in stores.

Was going to spring for the vizio 42, E42VO or something at walmart with a $600 tag on it. 1080p and same specs. I think plamsa can work. Techonlogy these days, TV are like 2-4 year items now and not lifetime like before.

Amazon have a shitty return policy?

I've never actually bought anything from them, so I can't say. Returning anything to an online vendor is generally more of a hassle than it is to just take it to the store and get a replacment/refund. A hassle that I'd probably be willing to spend $50ish to avoid.

The only reason TVs are 2-4 year items is because some people want to upgrade every 2-4 years. Unless you get a budget brand (i.e. Westinghouse), then your TV should last for many years.

And the Samsung plasma would eat that Vizio for lunch as far as PQ (picture quality) goes.
