Hey everyone, My dad is looking to buy a Mini-DVD camcorder for family memories and vacations. He wants to spend between 300-350 and get a decent camera. First off, there is a difference between mini-DV and mini-DVD, correct? Secondly, can anyone give me advice either up til or even on black friday? He would like to really use it for thanksgiving but wouldd settle for christmas if he had to wait til black friday. Thanks!!

DO NOT BUY A MINI DVD CAMCORDER. It will be the biggest mistake you'll ever make. Not only is it almost impossible to edit a DVD, second DVDs use a compressed format. I work in a conversion store, and almost once a day I get someone bringing me a DVD that has been scratched up, and unreadable, I hate telling them that their son's birthday party has been lost forever, but what can you do?

Get a panasonic 3-CCD mini DV camcorder.

Link to decent Panny
You'll want 3-CCD for low light.
