I'm building a PC inside the casing of an NES and need a really small power supply. I'm not really sure if what I need exists or not, though.

Here are the specs of my PC:
H77M-ITX motherboard
Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor
OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
8 GB RAM (2 4gb sticks)

I know that the above will work on a 300w PSU that I tried, but it's too big to fit in the case. If at all possible, I'd like to find a DC-DC PSU that can handle the above components comfortably but in my own research, I didn't find anything as big as 300w, and I don't know how small I can go.

Has anyone done a build like mine and already figured out what works? If so, I'd love to know before randomly buying something.

Why get a 3570K, why not a 3550? You clearly wont be OCing on that small of a PSU. the xbox 1 PSU was fairly small and i think it was 250w, or maybe im thinking of somthing else.

I got the 3570k because I wasn't really sure how limited I may or may not be regarding power and heat. I can always under-clock if I absolutely have to, but I want the PC to be as competent as I can get away with. I've seen a lot of NES PCs online with weaker specs, but I wanted to try my hand at building one with decent stats.

I hadn't considered using an Xbox PSU though. I have an old Xbox that I could open up. Will look into that. Thanks!

A PicoPSU 150XT or 160XT would work great. Those are the 24-pin versions. The "kits" start at 105W power brick, which should be enough for your proposed rig (stock clocked Ivy Bridge quad core, SSD, nothing else).

do you have some rough maximum measurements for the psu? shuttle makes some quite small powersupplies that might fit.

Sorry that I haven't posted pics like I promised yet. Been busy going to kids' ball games over the past week. I did go ahead and get the Pico PSU 160XT with the 192W brick. And I'm happy to report that it works like a charm! Thanks for the suggestions everyone, and whenever I do get some pics to show off, I'll be sure to post them.
