I am a new member, but I have been lurking for a few days now. I am not sure if this is the appropriate place to put this or not....I do contract sales for a local computer company. I go out and sell people and businesses wireless internet service and for everyone that buys from me, I get a commission. I do pretty well, but I am looking for something else that I could sell in addition to the wireless service. I found an auction on eBay for Dynamic DNS service software. It is the complete software for running the service and offering it to customers. If I buy the software, the owner of the computer company that I do sales for, will handle all the technical and hardware issues for a percentage of the profit. I know of quite a few businesses in the area that pay $99 a month for a static IP address, and most of them don't even know about the places on the internet that offer free Dynamic services. The few that do, do not trust the "free" services. I have talked to a few businesses and they have expressed interest in a cheaper way to have a static IP. The problem is that I am not a very experienced "techie", and I would really like an experts opinion on whether or not this software is legit or just a scam. I don't want to show the software to the computer shop owner, because if it really is a good investment, he would buy it himself and leave me out of the loop. I don't want to post the auction link, because I don't want to promote it if it is in fact a scam, so I'll just post the link to the website with the info: http://www.dyndnsservices.com I called and talked to the guy that is selling the software, and he seems like an honest guy, but he was talking big time technical jargon, and I got a little lost. If anyone could give me an honest opinion on whether or not this would be a good investment, please let me know. I am a young single mom of two and I can't afford to buy this if it isn't going to bring in some cash. Thanks for any help.
