I have an application at work that I need a BIG screen to be able to see all the fields.

It is a text based application with line drawings.

I'm looking at the Dell E228WFP or X2gen MW22U, mainly for size and cost.

If it works out, I need to be able to justify the purchase of 5 of these.

Any recommendation between the 2 based on my usage ?

Sceptre and X2Gen are two different brands. If you're just looking for size and cost, I'd just get the cheapest, although I've never heard of anyone who owned an X2Gen monitor. Which Sceptre model? All 22" monitors should have a .282 pixel pitch, since pp is just a function of size and resolution on LCDs.

Corrected the brand confusion above.

Also to add the computer only has a VGA output, no DVI

Dell E228WFP.

Have one myself and couldn't be happier. Nice big resolution, clear picture quality, and all that jazz. Sure it's not as vibrant as more expensive monitors, but you get what you pay for, so.
