Need an effective way to get rid of hovering flies =)

Hi, the entrance to my apartment complex has this weird fly problem that no one seems to be able to solve. There's a bunch of little flies that like to hover in a circle about 5 feet in radius and they spend the entire day there just "hovering." The problem doesn't occur at night. So far we've tried to aim a huge industrial fan at the swarm but then they just hover a few feet to the left or right of where the fan is blowing. There is no way to use electrical devices near that area so that is out of the question.

Does anybody have any secret methods to getting rid of these pests? Thanks!

take a bath.

😉

If they're fruit flies, there must be some garbage or something around the spot. Spray some raid or something around the area. I used to use something called spray-nine, works like a charm.

Hovering venus flytraps?? I know they are rare, but they would solve your problem.

Seriously, are they the big fat flies, or the little buggers?

Dang, someone already said take a bath. Like Viper GTS said, try Raid or you can always a citronella candle. That is usually used for sketters but it should work on flies as well.

capture one.. torture it till it's barely alive and then leave it to where the other flies and can see it
