It works great. I do it all the time

The idea is to do it once and then not have to. I believe you proved my point.

You may kill many of the workers, but the queen is safe and sound well underground.

I have dug up ant nests, poured kerosene in the hole, set ablaze. They are back in full swing next year.

I have placed a Terro bait outside the nest and had no ants since. Repeated for all colonies within 50 feet of my home. I spray my foundation line with their blocker, and have not seen an ant in my house in years.

It does provided the ants are concentrated in an area. I killed thousands of the little buggers in my parents old house by dowsing an ant hill near our house with petrol and setting it on fire.

That's great for the lawn, and no it doesn't work.

Where's the "nukem from orbit" response? :)

I'll have to try this Terro stuff... seem to be having an annoying problem with ants as well this year...

So when you see a poster suggesting a military flamethrower to take care of an ant problem, you take him seriously and reply in kind.

lol

No. I knew you were kidding. But I wanted to point out that it wouldn't work. Because I mean, it seems like it would work fine, but it really doesn't.

Ants apparently eat termites, so might want to check that wall for moisture or termite damage.
