I was going to get a barton and some ddr 333 ram. I was wondering which chipset would offer best performance and stability. I will also o/c a bit. I want a good name board like asus and nothing like chaintech or stuff like that. Which chipset would be best and which offer the dual ddr memory performance thing?
thanks

Go nForce2.

Some good ones are Epox, Abit, Shuttle, and even Chaintech.

I got the Abit NF7-S as it has the soundstorm sound and I use the onboard sound.

you said you wanted BEST performance...go NForce2. It is the best...check all recent reviews of KT600 and SIS. If you are buying for price only, KT600 is not bad...but there are excellent low cost NForce2 boards (EPoX 8rda+, Shuttle MN31N etc)

Depends on what performance. In IDE performance (read: business application performance), SiS chipsets have a massive edge over everything else. If it's RAM throughput (read: number crunching, professional 3D, really demanding games), then NVidia has the best offer. KT600 kind of sits inbetween.
