It's like 36C today with the humidex (close to 100F!) or about 30C without humidity and guess the hell what? the dorms here actually have HEAT on...yes, HEAT IS COMING OUT. you can turn the fans off in your room but if you put your hand on the heater thing you can feel the heat, and also the halls seem to be heated!
their excuse is that the average temperature this time of year is 12C so they refuse to turn on the a/c. it's probably like 110F in my room, and almost as bad outside. to give you an idea how hot this building is, my heater has not been turned on once all winter (i live in canada) and my window was OPEN 90% of the time all winter.
i've taken four cold showers today to cool off and clean off the sweat and drank about 2 gallons of cold water but damn...can't this be considered as cruelty or something? hehe.

i wish i was at home now..need a/c NOW :( oh yeah, i don't have a fan either but i doubt that would do much anyway.

any suggestions for cooling down other than getting naked (i am already in just boxers anyway) and sitting in a tub of cold water?

*pant* *pant*

sit by the heater for an hour with the windows closed, then go outside. It will be nice and cool.

That's so funny that you mention that. I used to drive to school with my buddy in the winter time with the windows down and the AC on. That way when we got outside, it was really warm.

i had to play a rugby game in this 90+ weather, and let me tell you, it was hot as hell. but thankfully, my basement is really really cold.

i know how you feel man. my first year in the dorms it was exceptionally hot (95) and they had the heat on from day one. I'd wake up literally drenched in sweat. Didnt have AC at the time in our dorm. They've installed it since then, but it wont turn on unless the temp outside is hotter than 80 or so, even though they keep the heat on. Whats worse, according to a friend in the dorms, is that now you cant open the windows because of the air conditioner. So your'e stuck in a heated room with no ventilation.
