?I feel the need for speed? ?at least more speed than I am currently getting from my P3-600 o?clocked to 800 on a BX mobo at FSB133 with 512mb PC133 Cas2 memory. Will a dual setup really allow me to work & print faster or should I just buy a faster CPU? Will the switch off from my o?clked BX board to a dual VIA board offset my current speed advantages; or will the dually blow away my current set up? The benchmarks for the Abit VP6 show that I will need to tweak the memory settings a lot to get even to where I am now; but, are these issues really meaningful in a business environment? This setup is NOT for games. My hard drives are IBM 18GB (22GXPs/ATA66) in RAID 1(mirror) array and getting full to the brim. Search time is getting slower. I use Win 98, multitask a lot and also work with photos a lot. When printing to my Epson 900, there is clearly a sharing of the computer?s resources during the printing that does not allow me to get back to the web or other programs as fast as I want (I have tried the various printing modes without real increases in speed there). So, putting aside the hype about ATA100 drive speed and about more memory above this level, how do I improve performance from current levels? Thanks.
