Man, this is a tough one. They are probably pretty close in terms of quality. I would grab the one with the highest refresh rate and warranty.

Probably should be posted in another forum...

There is also a Samtron Monitor at Sam's Club for $99 no rebates, not sure on the model, but you do a search in the hot deals forum. I thought about getting this monitor once my next paycheck comes around

There's actually $70 in Rebates on the Samtron @ OD bringing your final cost to $70 shipped free. :)

Might want to consider which retailer has a better track record of honoring rebates.

Personal experience has been that OD is slow but always comes through.

On the other hand, I have never had a CU$A rebate that did not first involve complaints, letter writing, phone calls and threats of contacting FTC etc.

FWIW. Others seem to think the converse is true.

If you look at the HD site it says $50. The rebate shows $10+$20+$40. BUT, the $20 one says can not be combined. So, no telling if we can get $70 off or only $50 off.

See...we are making this a legit post. :D

Yep, when you buy Sony.
Buying $80 monitor and then it goes broke? You pay shipping back and forth $80, right?
That money you can use to buy another monitor, so what is the gain with that warranty?
They sell warranty with cofee makers but I've never used one, it is just simpler to buy another one.

sounds like a good point... but 40 bucks each way? isn't that kinda expensive shipping?

I would have to second the Sony argument. It is worth paying a few extra dollars for something like a monitor. This is one of the things that you usually keep longer than your current build. The warranty and reliability are worth the extra $$ IMO.

On the Senior Member crap, I have no problem with this thread. There are too many people around here that like to act like moderators. Sometimes a thread like this results in a Hot Deal.

Good luck.

Thanks Larry Joe

To the rest of you complaining, I did give alot of thought where to post this before I did, And I couldn't post this in Iwanna because I knew where to get the deal I wanted.

I ended up buying the envision from CUSA, but It turned it wasn't the monitor but a 3 month old 300 watt sparkle power supply that died and took some other parts with it.

Nice post! Personally, I would say this is a hot deal turned into a question. What better place to find out where/which hot deal to get. I mean as long as you posted the hot deal and where to get it. Complainers... chill out.

Monitor regardless how bad they are, you can take it apart and tune it up by adjusting focus, screen, contrast it will be greatly enhanced. How good it is depend how well your eye can tell the difference between sharp and blurry. Most monitor have their screen set too low so it kinda of like being in a dark room not very lit. This will limit how bright your monitor can be, which is a little darker then it should be.
I do this with my Tv too and even CAR, I must be a genius! LOL The more you like to screw with thing like this the more you know.

I think I can no longer keep silent here coz some people apprently misunderstood the true meaning of my comment posted earlier.

My comment was nothing offensive to the original "thread". I just felt this threat is not appropriate in Hot Deals forum since he was not giving enough information as to be a hot deal (How much is the rebate? Is it manufacturer rebate or store rebate? Linky?....etc). Rather, as he put in the title of this thread, he was just seeking opinion for his personal purposes which violates the forum rules and he should have posted in ~~~I WANNA ~~~. According to the forum rules a hot deal should contain any of the following:

<< What is a Hot Deal? Here are a few examples:

A discount coupon on a vendor's site.

Info about a good "price match + rebate" situation.

Links to store ads and reposts of store ads, especially if they contain a really great deal. You might include a "heads up" about the specific deal in the thread title and/or your post.

Any nice premium deals, as long as those taking advantage are in the intended group. If a company wants to survey Senior Network Administrators, or if they offer a discount to retail sales employees, and you are in the tenth grade, you probably do not qualify. It is a good idea to point out such limitations in your post.
>>

Some others said I am pretending a moderator which is really a silly thought. Reminding the other members something here does not mean I act like a mod.

Computer shows guys. Dell and Viewsonic monitors are all over the place. With just a little luck you'll run into a 17'' Dell Trinitron for $50. If you just don't get swindled you'll have monitor that is much better than Samtron or Envision.

$50 for a 17" trinitron??? that must be used price. Is the $89 the price without using an office depot coupon???? there are $20 off coupons availible there.
