Need advise on adding 2nd HD

I want to add a second HD, likely an 80GB to 120GB (depending on price). My system has a 30GB IBM Deskstar which is just about filled. I have a mid-size case (Super Power Polaris II MT300) and a second HD would mount in the slot just above the first one. I am worried that two HD mounted so close would cause problems from heat and/or vibration problems. Does anyone have any advice?

There are HD fans which will fit but a simple solution can be to mount it under the bay by using L brackets or pieces from an Erector set...i even read an article where someone used the metal PCI slots from a New Casethat are on the back by bending and drilling holes. I've also mounted them on the bottom of Cases.

My case has 3 slots for 3" wide and 4 slots for 5" wide. I have a 30GB IBM Deskstar in the lowest 3" slot, an open position, and the a floppy drive. Adding the 2nd HD to the open slot would sandwich it between the IBM HD and the floppy dirve. I could move the floppy drive so that I had HD, floppy drive, HD but I don't know if that would make a significant difference. Where can I find out how much heat a HD can tolerate before adding additional fans? Especially since the local Frye's Electronics is selling 120GB HD for $105. I'm sorely tempted but worry about getting greedy and creating stability problems.
