Hi guys, looking to buy a new/used cell phone, pda, and digital camera. I'm pretty noob in these areas so I need some advices. =)

cell phone: Prefer flip-phone. (as cheap as possible)
1 - Really good reception
2 - At least tri-band

pda: (as cheap as possible)
1 - Gonna be using it to remind me about things.

digital camera:
1 - NOT Sony (b/c I got SD cards)
2 - 3 or more mega pixel
3 - sleek look (like Fuji FinePix Z1 Ultra Slim)
4 - snap-shots (like less than 1 sec from turn on to take a pic)

thanks in advance!

They do? Sony uses MemorySticks just about everywhere they can stick them, as far as I know.

If you're just going to use the PDA as a datebook kinda thing, you won't need anything fancy with a color LCD and whatnot. I'd see if you can find some old stock or used ones. I use a Palm m500 and it works fine for what I use it for, which is mainly storing usernames/passwords, addresses and phone numbers, and writing notes to myself to remind me to do things.

As for the digital camera... I love my Canon SD200. It's small enough to fit in my pocket, but not too small to operate. Takes a little longer than a second to turn on and be ready to take pictures, maybe 3 seconds. But you'll have a hard time finding one that's faster and has optical zoom cause they have to extend the lense, which takes a couple seconds. The only bad part about the camera is due to the small lense... the corners of pictures are darker when taking shots in low light. The only thing I wish it had that it doesn't is more manual controls. I liked being able to take long exposure shots of the night sky with my Olympus. The small size of the SD200 compared my old Olympus more than makes up for that though.

Don't know anything about cell phones. I just have a prepaid one for emergencies. :D

PDA is a waste of space, why do you want to carry around multiple devices?

Any modern cell phone has a decent calender/scheduler/alarm and contact/address book that replaces the PDA. I use my Samsung cell phone as a PDA, pager and a phone, and it also has a camera. For that matter, it you went with a higher end phone, you could get a decent camera... and then you'd have one device, not three.

Samsung V770 Cell Phone with a 7 MP camera, only available in Asia right now....

If you're looking for a higher resolution camera though, I'd stick with Canon Powershot Digital Elph.

Canon SD 450 5MP on sale at Fry's fro $369

I concur with Jeff on the SD200, if you want to go cheaper / smaller

I have the Canon S500 that I bought last year... 5MP with Compact Flash card instead of SD. Awesome camera.

Don't get a camera phone. Integration only leads to compromise, and you end up with a big phone that takes crappy pictures instead of a small phone and a good camera!

So by your logic, the OP should walk around with his Canon Digital Elph, his $29 pay-as-you-go phone, his pager, and his Palm PDA on his belt? :p

You misunderstood the first line of my initial post though... my point was that he didn't need a PDA, just get the camera and a phone. The 7 megapixel Samsung isn't available yet in North America, probably costs as much as a house payment, and who knows how large it is.

I have a Samsung A-670 (which has a low qual camera if I need a quickie picture) and I have a Canon S500 digital camera.
