Im on a budget of around 250 and im wondering which card would give me better performance and keep its longevity longer. Ive looked around and havent found any reviews directly comparing the 2 so im wondering if you guys can help me out on which card to get. Also I dont plan on overclocking or attempting to unlock pipelines so keep that in mind. Thanks.

You didn't look very hard. Search for the other threads on this same topic; the two cards have been put head to head repeatedly.

The 6800 is faster than the 6600GT -- but it costs more, too (or at least it will once the 6600GT drops to ~$200). The difference is especially pronounced using AA/AF, because of the drastically reduced memory bandwidth of the 6600s.

again, what should i do? the price difference in the UK is like $50, $300 for the 6600gt and $400 for the 6800.

i'm really tempted to go for the 6600gt, but there are conflicting benchmarks on this...

sorry i keep asking this in other's threads, but i never seem to get an answer

Isn't that the point? If you don't want to overclock, I would get a card that is warrantied to be OC'd.

Yeah but what's 25mhz on the core going to give you if you only have 12 pipelines? 12x 25 = 300 extra fill-rate :(
