Hey All,
Ok the time is now. Well, tomorrow. I have all the parts for my computer. I have to return the 1.1 ghz Athlon I bought because it's not unlocked and I don't feel like messing with it.
But anyway, tomorrow I'll be setting things up finally and I'd like your advice for best system performance. I will be having a dual RAID setup. Both SCSI RAID and IDE RAID (Through the built-in promise controller).
How should I set things up? Should I make sure my hard drives are on different channels and just mix the other devices with them? Or do I group the hard drives on one channel and other devices on the other?
I'll be running Windows 2000. Are there any tweaks I should do to improve the disk drive performance when using this RAID?
