I need some advice on how to best connect two different offices in completely different geographic locations. One office is in Pennsylvania the other in Colorado. The Pennsylvania office has about 6 or 7 computers getting access to the internet using a Win XP Pro machine as their server. The Colorado office has only 2 machines at the moment, 1 with XP Pro and the other running XP Home. I just started working for these guys setting up their LAN but now they want me to do alot more. My question is... What is the simplest way to connect these 2 offices so that they can exchange files among other things. From the sounds of it I don't think they're needs are that great and they might be able to get by with 56k dial up connection. Both offices do have broadband DSL connections so if its easier to go through the internet somehow, let me know please.

You'll definately need broadband connections with 2 VPN endpoint firewall/routers at each side pretty much making the two networks one network across the internet. The VPN routers would give you a secure tunnel across the internet.

Linksys Wireless VPN Router

Linksys Wired VPN Router

Just remember, whatever you go for, get two of them and it'll create a nice VPN tunnel both ways for your network

I won't need additional software? Just 2 VPN Routers to make the VPN connection?
