I'm about to purchase a custom 'value PC' from Ibuypower, a friend told me they were very reasonably priced with good hardware options. So far the PC i've customized is:

3800X2 Athlon AMD
MSI K8N4 motherboard w/ SLI
535 Enermax? SLI powersupply
2 GB's RAM - Corsair value
Nvidia 7800GT graphics card(only 1, only want to use SLI as a possible future upgrade later if 7800GT's become really cheap)
74GB Raptor Harddrive

This also includes some other options(windows, neat lights, case, etc.) totaling $1941.00 right now. I do not plan to do SLI setup until maybe a year or two if a 2nd 7800GT card is more economical than a new videocard. I also dont plan on any raid setup. I want to use this machine mainly for gaming.

What i'd like to know is:

a) Is right now a good time to buy this PC or do you see prices falling on some of this hardware in the near future? I've been holding out in hopes of some part prices dropping but I also really want a new PC soon. For example I read that Crossfire cards are due out soon, would that cause 7800GT cards to fall in price? Do you foresee 7800GT cards falling in price anytime soon or any reason for me to hold out from purchasing now?

b) IF you had to buy a PC instead of building one yourself, is there a reliable company that might be better than Ibuypower that you could reccomend? I'm looking for a best bang for the buck type of company that isnt shadey in any way. I purchased my first gaming computer through Alienware years ago but in hindsight i feel i overpaid for what i got.

c) If you see anything you might change about the specs I decided to go with, please tell me. People here know what their talking about and any advice would be appreciated, I dont know much and really dont want to regret what i get.

Thanks for any input you could give me :)

Why not build it yourself? You would save $250-300

If your certain you don't want to build yourself, check out monarchcomputer.com. They are quite a bit cheaper and have a better selection of components to choose from, they are sometimes slow on delivery but a very reputable company
