Need Advice..what is a good DVD player for my laptop?

i just bought a laptop and i want to get a dvd player for it. ive never owned a dvd player for a computer before so id like some advice on what to get. im thinking about getting this (Archos External Mini DVD ROM 8x Portable) anyone have any experience with this one?

I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 and I got the same Archos MiniDVD for it. It worked fine and guess what...I opened it up and switched the insides with the casing from my Dell 24X CD-ROM. Now I have an internal DVD drive that fits in the media bay of my inspiron and a 24X PCMCIA CD-ROM 🙂


Looking at your notebook, doesn't "CDRW/COMBO" imply a DVD/CD-RW combo drive?
