System is configured as listed below, with the add'l info that I've installed a SBL Value! card in PCI slot #3 and a Linksys NIC in PCI slot #5. I connected the L1 bridges with Loctite defogger goop; the remaining L7 bridge is connected so vcore will default to 1.85v; I opened the 1x and 4x bridges at L6 in order to reduce the default multiplier from 11.0 down to 8.0. I can get the system to run at 9.5x139, but it doesn't like it. If I drop the multiplier to 9.0, I still can't get the FSB over 140, even though 1260 is substantially below the 1313 (11x105) that the cpu has gotten reliably up to with an MSI K7T Pro2a. Any and all suggestions as to how I can get past this bottleneck (besides the obvious one of getting a 1.2 tbird) will be heard and tried.

Tbirds do not like high fsb speeds... might try 11X118 with the memory at 157mhz (where I run mine at most of the time...) very impressive Sandra memory scores... BUT!!! Be aware to install the fix for the shutdown problem with fast processors & large HD`s with large cache`s... before you do this, because I found out the hardway... (format reinstall lost most of my registry... in one shot...) :(

Have you taken off the northbridge heatsink and applied some arctic silver on it too? I also replaced the northbridge fan with one from www.coldcpu.com. Your case temps ok?

Bartman 39: what a ride that was! Kicked the multiplier up to 11.5, the fsb down to 116 and let 'er rip. Ran great with nary a ripple. So I had to push it further! When I moved the fsb to 118, I think Windows must have soiled its diaper because almost every driver I had installed dived into the same hole Alice did, and disappeared. Took me awhile to reinstall them all (Windows actually pitched in and helped!)

That was with the memory set at 7ns(143Mhz)in the bios. I'll try the 118 again with the SPD running the show.

Darrin: Case temps are fine; the system is in the lower level of my "raised ranch" house, where the ambient temp hasn't gone over 55F for the last 4 months. I haven't pulled the northbridge HSF yet; think it'll help putting AS under it?

I really appreciate the suggestions, guys! Keep 'em coming.
