ok i REALLY need to get rid of my PS fan, cause i got a crappy DEER PS with my case and the fan is one of those cheap ones that spins at like 1000rpm
now i really want a FAST fan, cause that PS gets HHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! (it gets hotter than my cpu heatsink and i have a duron OCed!!!!)
so im looking for a high output fan (although it may be loud), preferably untailed, although it doesnt matter since all i have to do is splice the wires and connect em......
anyway, i saw a high output sunon that caught my attention, but are delta, ystech, and panaflo up to par?
which is the best????
BTW, what precautions do i need to take to make sure i dont zap myself hard (i know the PS capacitors hold power even after PS is off and disconnected)
THX :):):):)

delta fans are by far going to be the best performers but noisiest too.
advice: be sure to keep a fan guard on over the fan and keep body parts away from them. i have a delta fan for my cpu and i had a very deep cut by the fan on my hand. it was very very deep, i guess i should have gotten stitches but a very tight bandade just gave me a nice scar

Check the width of the PS fan before you get another one. If you get a 25mm fan and it doesn't fit, then you'll have to return it.

Yes, Delta (AKA Black Label) is pretty good.

I only suggest 2CoolTek, because all the other online retailers usually have suck pricing.

ok heres the dealio.........
is ystech as good as delta?
btw, this may be dum, but is there enuf energy in the PS fan header for delta/high output fans?
also, ive seen places besides 2cooltek with about the same, if not less pricing.......
finally, WHAT PRECAUTIONS DO I NEED TO TAKE WHEN CHANGING STUFF IN THE PS???? RUBBER GLOVES? WHAT?

I don't agree with Delta fans being noisier. My Enermax 350 comes with two 80mm Delta fans and it's the quitest powersupply I've ever had the pleasure of using. Other members on the forums can attest to that.

If you want quiet go with the Panaflo. Delta, Sunon and Ystech fans generally push more cfms than the panaflo fans at the price of db.

Want some advice?? Plug the power supply out first.;) Electricity and fan blades are bad.

www.millisec.com is awesome. I ordered my fan and heatsink there for cheap. Actually, I think that 2cooltek and millisec are one in the same company since they have the same exact prices, use the same shipping website place thing, and the pictures and layouts of the websites are similar.

anyways, basically, there is no precaution to take, besides common sense stuff like be careful if a wire gets in the way of the fan or other things like that. the main thing i would be worried about is static electricity.

it might be true but you won't get socked unless you touch them with your fingers wet. just be careful. if you do get shocked it wont be anything worse than touching a 9volt battery to your tongue

If you must replace the fan yourself, here is an article that detail the procedure. Not everyone's power supply will be the same so use your best judgement.

p.s. I don't want to spam, just want to help.

George at Phamcomputer did a pretty good article. It seems to be easy. The other day I opened up my PC Power & Cooling Turbo ATX 400 and cleaned all the dust inside and all I did was unplug the AC. I forgot about the capacitor issue but I used tools with rubber handles so I never got shocked. Mines came with a 80mmx25mm NMB 39cfm fan connected to a two pin plug. Anyone know where I can buy this plug since Radio Shack doesn't seem to have it in the catalog? I'm probably going to replace it with a higher cfm fan like the Panaflo or ADDA. Panaflo's Hydro-Wave bearing is really is improved Sleeve bearing system. Are the ADDA fans any good? Since I'm just wondering, it seems everyone carries Panaflo, Delta, Sunon, YS Tech and Pham is the only one with the ADDA's.

I replaced my ps fan a couple weeks ago, I had no problems. Keeping it unplugged is the main precaution

You could get more than a "9v on the tongue" shock from one of those caps in the PS, but don't worry about it, you're not going to have the PCB out. A lot of power supplies will have a fan header. If the wires are just soldered in, you could do what I did when I replaced my PS fan.. I just took a normal case fan, with a 3-pin connector, mounted it in place, and ran the wires through with the rest of the power supply connectors, and hooked it up to a header on my board. Now I can monitor my power supply fan's RPM.. :)

Ah, I'm trying to find those 2 pin connectors that is mentioned on the PhamComputer PS fan upgrade. And it seems Radio Shack is by special order only and there are plenty of types of 2 pin connectors, not even sure if it's the right one.
