Need ADVICE quick: 4000+ clawhammer

so i'm getting a good deal a 4000+ but its a clawhammer, is that a huge disadvantage?

Are you planning on overclocking?

If you aren't, the only difference you will notice is that the clawhammer will use more power than the SanDiego.

clawhammer doesn't have sse3 but who cares. if it's a good deal, i'd get it to 😉

A good deal is a good deal.

It still should OC to 2.6 GHz, which gives you an FX-55.

Plus, if you don't want to keep it, you can sell it 🙂

I dont think you'll get more than 2.6GHz from it, but it is pretty cheap... You could always just buy a 3700 and try your hand at OCing that.

That's cheaper than a 3500+, so no question i'd grab it.

Considering it's really just a locked FX-53, i'd guess 2.6-2.8 GHz is possible, maybe more.

One of the best bang for buck CPU's at this moment. Great OC'er.

Personally, I'd go the 90nm route unless you have super cooling for the Claw. They are toasty sunsaguns....I had one of those 3500+ Claws which ran nearly 60C under load and yes, case and cpu cooling was adequate.
