I installed a generic firewire card and now I can't burn cd's.
I tried burning cd 2 cd and also from the hard drive but it keeps saying: "Error: 'Write" command failure on device 2:3:0
Read/Write error or bad medium detected (04h 00h 02h 03h 02h 00h)"
I even tried switching around my devices.
This is what I had first:
AGP video card
firewire card
scsi controller
USB
sound card
NIC
After this I switched firewire card with the usb and I still get the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ariel

I don't see any conflicts or anything. I don't know if it's my scsi card because that is what I boot for my hard drive and it's on fine.

ariel back up a min.... so before you installed the firewire card you were able to burn a cd?...how exactly is your system configured...what is using the firewire controller what is scsi what is ide....you need to put alot more detail if you want help with this.

I was able to burn before I installed the firewire card.
Scsi devices are
Hard drive
cd-rw
cd-rom

ide-2 hard drives on the same channel

well anything is possible....first clean the cd-rw...then try using different recording media....what type of cd-rw is it...the problems may not be related but could be coincidental..ie the cd-rw failing and the adition of the firewire controller ...stranger thiongs have happened
but before you reinstall the controller get the burner working again...that way you can better isolate the problem
did you add anything else ...software or change any configuration that could have interfered with the scsi bus
