I just bought a DFI LANParty UT NF4 ULTRA-D and I currently own a 20pin Antec Truepower 550. This will be powering a XT1900XT as well.

Will the older Antec work fine with this motherboard or do I need to get a 24 pin model?

According to the sticky at the top it SHOULD work, but I wanted to ask the question specifically for my setup and see what the experts here feel.

Thanks for your time.

Somone would need to verify this, but dosent that card need a PCI-E connector? Maybe you can get a molex to PCI-E converter. Other than that im pretty sure that PSU has enough power for that card, it is good quality.

Yes, it has a molex pci-e converter.

I am going to guess it will, but you know how it is. I dont want to kill my computer either...

Ati says: This check the bottom of that page for the power supply lowdown. That 550w antec should be fine unless yous packing like 20 hard drives or something. The fact that it is 20 pin shouldnt matter.

Dont use a non 24pin PSU w/ the DFI board its asking for trouble, it may work but it prob. would not be stable esp w/ a high end video card the extra 4 pins on a 24pin psu just power the PCI-E slots and if you head to dfi-street you'll see people w/ all kinds of issues using a non 24pin supply

But you can get a 20 to 24 pin power converter, this little wire that turns that 20 pin into a 24 pin connector. Its great for PSU's that can actually handle the load but are simply lacking in the 4 extra wires.
