Need advice on what CPU to pair up with a GTX570 card?

Give me your recommendations on cpu (AMD or Intel doesn't matter) and possible mother boards. This will be for a gaming rig.

I want a platform that wont bottle-neck the video card and the same, will not be bottle-necked by the video card. I hope this is not confusing request.

Agree on 2500K + Z68. Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3, Extreme3 Gen3, Asus P8Z68-V LE, Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 and Z68X-UD3H are (some) good choices

will not be bottle-necked by the video card. I hope this is not confusing request.

It will be bottlenecked by the video card. That's just another way of saying it can handle a faster video card than GTX 570. That's not an issue though, that's a bonus - you will be able to keep the same CPU for your next GPU upgrade.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the feed back folks.

I have a EVGA GTX 570 and my AMD Phenom II Quad Core 965 @ 3.4GHz was bottle necking... the i5-2500k should be good for a GTX 570 to the GTX 680 from what I am told..

If you have a Microcenter near you the best performance packaged is an i5-2500k + ASROCK Extreme3 Gen3 Mobo ($50 off mobo bundle) and get that Micocenter $15 off for you and your friends coupon

or combine it with another mobo for lower price...
