Ok, so I'm not one of THOSE avid gamers...but the majority of the reason I generally upgrade is because I want to achieve a decent framerate. Right now, my setup is as follows:
Neo2 Platinum w/ an A64 3200+ (winchester core)
1 gb mushkin value ram
80 GB 5400rpm seagate HD
AGP Geforce 6800GT
misc. drives and blah blah
What I really want is to run the new elder scrolls decently. I know it's going to be a memory hog, and I'd like to put another gig of ram (that I happen to have lying around) into the rig. However, the winchester core doesnt seem to agree with this idea. Do you guys think it'd be worth it to buy a 4000+ so I can actually get the 2 gigs in there? I don't really multitask so I figure getting an X2 would be a bit of a waste. I have about $600 to spend and I don't really wanna buy a new mb cause then I'd have to buy a new gpu as well---gets expensive. I figure I should prolly invest in a new hard drive too....it's about 5 years old at this point. What do you guys think would be the best option to increase the gaming speed solely? Thanks in advance.
