Need advice on upgrading to OS X on a G4 MAC comp

I have a friend that wants to install OS X on her G4 that has OS 9 on it. What the best way to do this? Thanks and please lmk

Does she plan on keeping OS9, or just going with OSX only? If you put the OSX CD in the CD drive and let it pop up, the OSX installer will be right there(with machine allready booted to OS9). After clicking "install OSX", the machine will reboot and start the install process. I have allways done clean installs, so I can not say if anything important from OS9 would be lost during the install of OSX..Have a looksee at OSX @ Apple for tips.

I would recommend that your friend leave OS 9 installed. Odds are she has some software that will not run on OS X. I haven't upgraded to Jaguar, but the hard-core Mac folks love it.

I can recommend a nice, helpful Mac forum if that is allowed here.

Just pop in the OS X disk and go to town.

Definitely leave OS 9 installed. You will need it for a lot of apps.
