Need advice on this TV someone is selling at work

Got any info on it?

Model? Specs? Size? Digital or analog?

I would probably do it, I paid over $400 for my 27" Wega (bought it used from the same guy I bought my 20" from).

Viper GTS

Is it a 16:9 widescreen? If it's only 6 months old I'd say that's a no brainer. One of my coworkers just bought a Mitsubish Platinum widescreen and it was something like 3 grand.

I would check it out and make sure it looks okay with a DVD and watching tv. Sounds like a good price. How do you plan on taking it home?😕

I just updated my post with link to tv and specs.

I would try to see if it fit in my Expidition or F250.

Now that you've added proper info, presuming of course that the TV isn't damaged - HELL YES!

Spend the few hundred $$$ extra to get it calibrated properly.

Viper GTS

Stickers for $1400 and probably streets for about $1000-$1100 new so $600 for 6-mos old doesn't sound bad.

And toss in $300-400 for a good ISF calibration and you're set! 😀

Looks like a good deal to me, assuming it's in good shape.

I came into work a little early today🙂 It was supposed to be $500.

I would hold off and save up for a HDTV that wasnt a projection tv. Its not that bad though, looks big!

I work at Kyocera-Wireless and we have this internal classifieds. People here are always selling stuff and pretty good prices to give coworkers a break. He's a software engineer here and he's selling it because he bought a plasma tv.

Good deal, provided there's nothing wrong with the display. But if I were you, I would take that $500 and put it towards a new HDTV...

This one's HDTV capable - it just won't do 720p.

Very few sets do these days. Almost have to jump to front projection if you want 720p natively. Or, go plasma but then you have to deal with higher costs and lesser black levels. I'd just as soon go front projection than plasma.

<----cannot decide

It *is* HDTV! HDTV Display Capability 1 480p/1080i

Me, too. It's cheaper, and has less artifacting. It's just tough to get a normal living room dark enough to make it look really good.
