Need advice on some dress shoes and pants

Yea, so I'm not so savy on clothe and what to wear to an interview. Basically these guys (a consulting engineering firm) are flying me down, getting me a rental car, and having me stay over at a Holiday Inn for a night. They definitely mean business. From what I hear, it will be a morning interview, run-around the office, and then a lunch with a couple of the heads.

Please help! I need to know what would be appropriate to wear because my current wardrobe is definitely lacking. Would Text the scanner-examiner or any other of these shoes work? And what about dress pants?! 🙁🙁🙁

is that all you wanna know about ... pants and shoes? do you have everything else covered? dress shirt, tie, belt all a go? i'll see what I can do.

edit: the shoes, scanner-examiner, look alright. as long as they fit nicely and don't go flapping about, i'd say they're doable. as far as pants, i'd recommed some nice smooth ones. i have an italian set that feel like im wearing nothing. it's very nice, they move with you as opposed to some business ones at pennys/macys/sears that are somewhat stiff.

Hmmm... engineering consultants usually wear shirt and ties, unlike the rest of the engineering world where the uniform is khakis and polos. Of course, regardless of what they wear you should wear at least a shirt and tie. Do you have a suit? Do you have time to get one? It's something you'll have for a long time so I'd recommend getting one. If you can't, get solid dress pants (gray, charcoal, dark navy blue, or maybe black) and a tie and dress shirt.

#1 piece of advice - whatever you wear (pants and jacket), get it tailored.

Don't buy Sketchers, they're terrible shoes. Go get yourself a pair of Borns or Johnston & Murphy or Cole Haan or Rockports. That way you won't look like a tool walking around like someone smashed your ankles with a croquet mallet since your shoes are so uncomfortable. Other than that...do you have a suit? What do you know about the company culture?

Buy a decent, reasonably-priced suit from JCPenney, Men's Wearhouse or Syms. The dress shoes in your link are probably fine, but shop around.

I third the Rockports.

They are all have bought in the last eight years for work/dress.
