Need advice on RAM

So I have 2x1 GB sticks of Corsair Twin PC6400 RAM ( I think, ram confuses me still) Can I get a 2x2 set of Corsair TWIN 6400 and have 6GB total? Is that a stupid question? 🙂

I will be running Vista 64 bit on my new build. Abit IP35 Pro motherboard.

I'm just thinking down the line I'll want more than 4GB, so to fill all 4 slots with 1GB sticks seems like a bad idea. I just recall reading something about pairing RAM of the same size/capacity/type, wasnt sure if this applies. Hope this makes sense...

Get the same RAM, or at least the same in terms of frequency, timings, and especially voltage. Possibly the same IC manufacturer (e.g. Micron, Powerchip etc.).

You might have to re-validate your overclock, and increase the Northbridge voltage to run it stable. I am running mine at 667MHz, the most stable for my setup at 1:1 with the FSB.

Good luck!
