Need Advice on PSU's

I need to get a new PSU. I'm running 12.2 - 12.6v on my Allied 350w 12v@12a and unless i'm mistaken that = bad.

So I'm wondering if I should get this Allied 400W Power Supply AL-A400ATX w/ Two Fans ***AMD APPROVED*** UL, CSA, FCC Approved for $32 ( link http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=17-154-013&depa=0 )

or maybe a Aspire 450W Silver Aluminum Power Supply, Model ATX-MR450W - Retail $50 ( link http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=17-148-011&depa=0 )

I'm looking at the allied becuase i've had one since 2000 and never had a problem with it... till I started adding in power suckin HSF and vid cards. And it's cheaper by about $17- 20 with shipping from newegg.

If someone could tell me the pros/cons of these and a recomendation, I'd appreciate it.

First of all, are those readings by software or multimeter? The latter is the one you want to go by. Anything said by the first could be FUD. You're still within tolerance, so better to check before you waste any money.

Ahh.. ok. Those numbers I got from my ASUS Probe v2.23.04 I think the numbers where the same when I check my bios readings but if the probe is using the bios number they would be the same. So should I not worry?

If I need to check it with a multi-meter is there a guide online I can go to to show me what i nned to do?

Can you try motherboard monitor 5? I find that gives more accurate results than ASUS probe.

BTW, 12.6 is still fine, but if you find it's getting stressed too much (With a MM, of coure) I would replace it.

Installed MBM5, much better than my asus probe. here are my numbers let me know if this is a problem for me.

Aspire and Allied are one stet up from generic. Look at Seasonic, Forton, Tagan, and PCP&C.

Do Tagan and PCP&C go by a diferent name? I can't seem to find those brands. Also I posted my MBM5 Numbers eariler do I even need a new PSU?

PCP&C = power PC & Cooling
Tagan = tagan you shoudlbe able to find it

both thoes are top notch PSU makers and you will pay outta the ass for them
Look at the PSUs made by Antec, Enermax and Fortron
