Need advice on possibly getting a Blackberry.

I'm getting ready to move into a sales position where I currently work, and have known for a couple of months now. Things are finally moving into position to where I will be moving into sales within the next month. About a month ago, I thought about purchasing a PDA to help schedule appointments and the like, and abandoned that idea at the thought of getting a laptop. I've wanted a laptop for so long, but couldn't justify getting one. So I promptly arranged myself financially, and purchased a brand-new lappy for $850 shipped on eBay.

Now that I'm starting to set up a few appointments, and seemingly have a new appointment every day, I'm learning that a laptop isn't necessarily my best solution, as it is too bulky and too costly to carry around and turn on when I need to input an appointment. It's just not sensible.

So, I'm back to the whole PDA thing. I'd like to purchase a PDA that goes hand-in-hand with my T-Mobile service for the convenience. After ruling out the expensive iPaq solution they have on their website, the Blackberries are definitely within my range.

So, with that said, can you guys shed some light on these devices, and which one would be well suited for my situation? I don't necessarily need internet access, so browsing speed isn't important, nor do I need any GPS functionality or something like that.

Thanks for any input and advice.

Well all the BlackBerrieshave internet.

I would recommend the BlackBerry 7100t. Its a really nice phone/PDA. Its not as large as the other BlackBerrys and its more like a cellphone but with all the BlackBerry functionality (still has the QWERTY keyboard, and their predictive text is amazing). My Dad has it and he likes it alot.

The 7100t is a nice phone. I have a Nokia 6600 (similar), but with this phone, and the blackberry as well, you should have a computer which you can sync up with them. The joys are 1. getting email on the go (blackberries excel at this) and 2. being able to sync up your outlook with them as well, like your calendar and the like. If you want the PDA feature of a stylus, you won't find it in a blackberry, but I personally prefer the phones to the PDA's.

There is also the Treo 650 which is supposed be great, and the Sony P900

HAHA, thats funny because I have a 6600 too. I dont really see why you would need both though. The BlackBerry pretty much does everything the 6600 can also, except maybe some games 🙂
