Currently I own a Viewsonic 17" G73F CRT and am looking to upgrade to a flat panel.

I use my computer mostly for games (HL2/WoW) and website/photoshop editing. I read reviews on both sides, and they both seem to be good for my purpose. I even looked at the 2005FPW but people say there's a lot of backlight and bleeding, and I personally just don't want to deal with that. I like the fact that the Dell has component connections in the back and such, but saving 90$ to get a 17" flat panel is kinda wacked imo yet part of me says to get it. So i'mcurrently leaning toward the 2001 FP.

Dell 2001 FP (~560$ from Dell) vs Samsung 710T (~440$ from Pricewatch)

So I need your guys' advice, which would you pick?

thanks.

I myself will be going with the 2001fp shortly. Widescreen is cool, but I just dont want to mess with the resolutions. 20.1 inch just seems so much larger too.

Go for the 2001fp, especially at those prices. I've got a 710T and it's a great screen, but the 2001fp is considerably larger and also has a nice response time (16ms vs 12ms on the 710T). Neither should ghost in games.

I'd count the 910T out from your comparison because it's a 25ms screen - inadequate for a monitor used as a primary gaming screen.
