i have an antec p180 case and I leave the sidepanel open. Company of Heroes with everything on max. gives me a min. fps of 19 @1600x1200 res. I wouldn't mind bumping it up to 25-30 without messing with the eye candy. How much of an OC is safe without risking damage to my card? I downloaded AtiTrayTools but haven't installed it yet. Will that program do nicely or is there something better? Any help would be appreciated.

if your only getting 19fps then you got one slow system.

you should put your hardware in your sig ..

regardless of what you may think.. anything lower than a conroe overclocked is going to be 100% bottleneck.. that 1950 you got is going to be a large waste as your cpu and ram are going to be limiting you.

i jacked around with the demo and had things just cranked and ran silky smooth.. i didnt measure fps but i know it wasnt dropping clear to 19fps..

i usually play my games on 720p or 1080i without any issues what so ever

your fps won't increase that much and if you have a cpu bottleneck then there may be only 1-2fps increase at max

BS

Sure, a C2D will certainly help things alot, but did you really expect to get away with spreading FUD like that?!

CoH is a CPU/GPU killer for any system out there now:

GPU OC'ing doesn't always produce a big FPS difference. All the current third party programs for OC'ing ATI X1*** series cards have problems or limitations. ATItraytools has one of the best reps, so if you downloaded the latest one that allows OC'ing, you're probably about as well off as with anything else. I would suggest that you unlock overdrive in CCC and have a go. It's probably the safest to use even if it doesn't produce the highest OCs.

LOL guys he said a MIN. of 19fps. He probably averages around 45 and maxes at 100+. He's also playing at 1600x1200. Those are pretty decent frame rate for that res.

I would just use CCC overdrive if you want to play it safe.
