Need advice on new laptop

My wife's old Sony Vaio is at death's door so I'm looking into new laptops. Main uses are emails, simple Internet use and watching random YouTube videos so nothing especially taxing.
Her criteria are cheap, 15 inch screen (I think we can get away with 14 or 13 really) and reliable.
Touch-screen is not important and neither is Office (I've got the 365 family pack).

We're buying in Japan but most of the big brands are available here. Budget is $800 roughly (¥80,000)

Mostly I've been looking into the Dell Inspiron range.
Cheers all

For the stuff you describe, the Asus UX305 w/ Core-M.

In NA, the baseline model retails for $699 and comes with a 13.3'' 1920x1080 IPS panel, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD, and it only weighs 2.6 lbs. You can frequently grab it from the Microsoft store for $599.

I just bought a Dell Inspirion 3000 14" for the same uses as you list. It has a 32G ssd. I added 8 gigs ram and a 32 gig SD card. $275 all in. Perfect for my purposes.
