Title says it: want to (finally) upgrade my monitor. Have a high budget, but nothing crazy. Read the sticky guide and 3 monitors fill into the category. But besides the ones listed in the sticky, does anyone know any good monitors to pick up? Possibly newer, better monitors came out? I don't think the TN vs IPS is really going to make a difference for me. But you guys are the guru's and I'm the n00b. :) Thanks in advance

I got some really nice 26" 1920x1200 KDS brand LCDs from buydig.com for $250 + shipping. VGA/DVI(HDCP)/HDMI. Comes with cables too, but they're only 4' long, instead of 6'. So better to buy longer cables.

OF course, they're TN. But they look great.

Read about the DoubleSight DS-265 and it seems like a great monitor at a great price, but reading about the brightness issues turns me off. I know for a fact my eyes will not be able to adjust properly in my room at night with that type of brightness. Thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming! Can anyone share their opinions on: ASUS VW266H, Acer G24, Benq G2400WD, and Hanns·G HG-281DPB. These are TN panels, but other IPS's are welcome.

I have a BenQ V2400W, same panel as the G2400WD, and it is wonderful. Colors are great (basic calibration settings are available at hardforum and elsewhere) and it is terrific for FPS gaming (I play shooters like L4D and COD almost exclusively).

Highly recommended

I sit in the dark with mine and have never been bothered by it. I never even thought it was too bright.

Hey brencat...

I think you played on our COD-WaW clan server recently. It is called 'RAW' Old Farts Tactical.
Am I correct?
