i bought this on newegg. they didn't write down that it only supports 3500+, 3800+ Athlon 64FX 53, or higher CPU (according to msi website), so i accidently bought athlon 64 3000+. Can I still install it on the motherboard? If not, which mother is consider above average under $150.
 
One of the reviewers at newegg said he had no problems with the 3000. I would check for a bios update. Newegg won't flash the bios for you, so check which version works with the 3000. You can also call msi direct. I've talked to their tech support and rma dept a few times.
 
If you bought the Neo2 after december 5th on Newegg, it should have Bios 1.3. In that case, it will take any 939 CPU, including the 3000 and 3200 Winchesters.
