It's been a while since I have done this so maybe someone with more recent experience can give me some advice.

I have my win2k OS on HD1 (which has two partitions) and I want to move it to HD2 while I combine the partitions on HD1 back together. Then move the OS back from HD2 to HD1.

I rather not completely reinstall the OS due to the countless configurations already performed on it. Easily done? Or is there a easier method?

One word for you. Ghost! That is symantecs disc imaging software. Basically you can make an image of the boot partition or the entire disc depending on your requirements and save it to another drive or partition depending on your needs then restore it to the drive or partition of your choice later. I did something similar to what you are planning last week.

Thanks for the replies, got it done with a couple free ulitities. Actually the copying part was easy, the hard part was the way Windows 2000 assigns the drive letters and it took a bit of searching to "fix" that.
