Need advice on MO trade

I sent a large money order to this guy with a tracking number. He knows the delivery was confirmed, but says that he still doesn't have the MO. He wants me to get a refund for the MO, and resend it, he will knock off the shipping fees. I understand that MO takes time to refund, and I have already waited 1 month. I should not be responsible if the USPS confirmed my money was sent. I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

This is funny business.

If you have confirmation, you have fulfilled your responsibility.

If he refuses to ship the goods, report him to the police.

Yep - give him the tracking # and see what he says.

Check to see if the MO was cashed. I would have sent a Personal Check. You can see who and when it was cashed. You may want to let him know that he may be committing Mail Fraud which is punishable up to $100,000 in fines and years in Prison.

I know that, but I should have used signature confirmation too. I am going to demand he send the goods, then I will resend the money if I get a refund.

Legally, it's your responsibility to get it to him. There are three posibilities:

1) The USMail lost it in which case you just have to Cancel the MO.

2) The USMail delivered it and someone stole it which is a Federal Felony. Cancel the MO.

3) He received it, cashed it and said he did not get it. Again, Cancel the MO. It'll show up as cashed. Send him to Jail.

Anyway you look at it, you're gonna have to cancel the MO. Then you'll find out if it's cashed, or not. He has no obligation to send the Goods unless he is ripping you off. I never buy anything over $500 unless it's Local. Sorry to hear you have to go through this.

I demanded that he ship the items to us first, then I will send him the receipt of the money order so he can handle the process. I do not need to wait because he can't find the money that I have confirmed was sent to his address. That MO was for a large sum of money. So, if he refuses, is there any legal actions I can take? This was done through a yahoo auction.

This guy is defintitely a con artist. I was fooled in an yahoo auction. I just finished getting him kicked out of eBay, where he was trying to do the same thing. There are 3 other bidder like me, who didn't get their stuff. Any suggestion as to waht we can do? I am running a trace on the USPS money order now(60 days), reported him to FBI website, USPS mail fraud website.
