Need advice on graphics cards...

It's been a year and it's about time for another upgrade. I have an old 3d Prophet DDR-DVI and was wondering how much of a performance increase should I expect from getting a 3d Prophet Pro? Should I get it or wait for the NV20 which will be totally out of my price range for at least another year.

I forgot to mention that my prophet is overclocked to 155 core and 360 memory and getting around the low 6000s in 3dmark2k

Gettign a GTS is much more practical than a Ultra. That is for now. 🙂. Unless you can afford the Ultra and money is not an object.

just wait for the nv20. I don't think you will see a big enough increase for you to justify spending $400.

I don't think spending $400 on a video card can be justified in any way. Go buy a DC and enjoy some console loving. I'm seriously thinking of skipping PC games totally. Video card prices are getting way too high.

The ultra is costly but you get what you pay for,the card is built alot better than the others but the fan is faster and makes more noise.I use a 3 1/2 inch (speciel bracket built) fan blowing on the card with the on board fan unpluged.
I had both cards and here are the 3D test results:

3D test GF2 32 Direct3D 245.4453 MPixels/s

3D test GF2 Ultra 64 Direct3D 317.9351 MPixels/

PS 2dvideo is not the fastest on the market but it is good enough for the programs that you will run in 2D mode.

I played DFLW (Delta Force Land Warrior)wwith the GF2 Ultra and I was in the prone position and seen ant,s crawling across the ground it was so clear 🙂.Money is not the most inportant thing in the world;it is the only thing.

Well, guess what time it is of the year. I have two nice uncles that I am sure will be more than willing to contribute like 75 bucks each so that leaves me providing just 250 bucks which is not too shabby for the best on the market right now.
