Need Advice on DVD+RW software

Hello all,

I just bought a HP dvd 100i drive that uses the DVD+RW media format. The problem is that the vendor i got this from only sent me cheap stomp software on a burned CD with no label. So far I havent been able to write a DVD, possibly because of the software. I bought Ritek DVD+RW media and it is sopposedly compatible with the HP drive. So please give me sugjestions as to what DVD burning software i should get to use with my HP dvd 100i and windows XP.

Well I trying using Nero and I was able to burn a CD with the software but when i try to burn a DVD the drive stays idle and Nero eventully stops responding and it have to end task the application. Um i bought a offical HP DVD+RW disk so that i would be sure that the media was not the problem. So I guess the last reasonable conclustion is that the Drive itself is bad. What do the rest of you think of this, Can a drive be able to burn CD's, but somehow not be able to burn DVD's when it is sopposed to be able to do both? (Drive = HP DVD 100i)
 
Which version of Nero are you using? The new version 5.5.10.0 has some bugs with DVD Burning. I use Nero 5.5.9.17 and I've burned 30+ DVDs. Try to find the version I'm using.
