Hi. First off, I'm new to this forum. Tech expertise is decent, yet I'm totally new to home theater projectors.
We have new a large entertainment room. We decided to buy a Sony vpl-hw45es, and since we have some moderate ambient light, we also bought a SI 5 Series Slate, fixed frame screen. Black diamond screens we're a bit out of our budget range. We're not concerned about light, as we'll be controlling that with curtains, as needed.
Setup: bottom of screen is approx. 4 ft. from floor, projector is flush ceiling mounted at 14' from screen. 12 foot high walls & ceilings.
We had it professionally installed with our new AV system. However, the installers are unable to adjust the projector correctly to the screen. Currently the image is displaying about 12-14" above the bottom of the screen. Lens shift is all the way done on the vertical adjustment. Don't really have an horizontal issues.
We can move the screen up maybe 3-4" max. Any more than that and it's just too high.
We consulted with tech support where we purchased projectorpeople.com The only answer they have for us is to put an extension pole on the ceiling mount, likely around 20-24" will be needed.
Is it normal to have to put an extension on the mount? Or is this not the right projector for our setup?
Any recommendations for changing up our current setup are also appreciated!
thanks!
