Need Advice On Digital Cameras

I am looking for a digital camera in the $250-$350 dollar range, and that's just for the camera. I realize I'll have to shell out a few more bucks for a memory card and rechargable batteries. The biggest pictures I would print would be 5 X 7's and a supremely rare 8 X 10 (about once every 3 years).

I've been looking at the Canon Powershot 20, Nikon Coolpix 775, and Kodak DX3900. Any suggestions on these or other cameras would be really helpful.

For a little more than $350, you should be able to get up to a Coolpix 885, it's very small and compact, an excellent camera all around.

Personally, I skip the Kodak DX3900, had one for a month now, borrowed it from a friend, it's pictures simply are not sharp also isnt as reponsive as it should be for a camera costing so much. It also turns itself off after 3 mins which is annoying when your trying to take good shots.

A good camera should take a picture as good as the human eye can see it. My 35mm camera takes great pics, strange how digital cameras arent doing this without spending a fortune.

Check out the Canon Powershot S30 , it comes with a battery recharger, costs $100 more than the A20, but it looks like a really good camera for the money.

Of course, read the reviews too, new cameras are coming out next month as well.

Just a couple things i've noticed form using the following cameras:
We've had 3 cannons here at work now and they were awful. We're on #3 because they keep crapping out. No, we do not treat them roughly and they really don't get too much use. IMO they suck. The pics are not great, the feature menu is chunky and they keep breaking for no reason at all.
My bud has a Kodak and I used it for a while before buying my sony. His K took ok pics, but the adjustmetns and features available were not impressive. Very little user controlable settings like the focus, white balance etc.
My little Sony cyber shot has been great for me. For some reason i can't open another page right now or i would have given you a link to the description. I think it's the DSC-P50. Very nice little cam for the $$$. I think it was like $250, 2.1mp, and very nice user features and menu action and picture quality and size selection. Plus i LOVE that i don't have to install some sh!t 3rd party graphics software to dl the pics to my pc. Simply plug it in and pull them off the camera. Awesome! Check 'em out.
