need advice on blu ray player (non smart)

I want a standalone blu-ray player but I do not think any of the smart features will do anything for me?

Are these more expensive smarter blu-ray players any different in playback than a non-smart player?

I just want a blu-ray player which isnt too loud, that will play 1080p discs at the best quality (whatever that means) and it would be nice if it loaded multiple discs (not required).

Haven't seen any multi disc blu-ray players. Also need a price range. I have a Sony which has worked perfectly fine for 2 years. Most have the apps on them now unless you buy high end player.

Last time I checked, the biggest difference between various players was load times. PQ should be fine on all of them unless you are really picky, and you can ignore the smart features if you don't want them.

some of the more expensive plays will also play hd-dvd's

oppo's are highly regarded for picture and sound, but i just cant pay that much for a br player

just grab one for under 100 and you should be fine, ignore the smart features
if you dont mind refurbs you can get one for under $50

heck you can get a samsung that upscales to 4k for @ 150

i just picked up the successor (BDP-S5500) for the broken sony i had (BDP-S5100).

i haven't hooked it up bit i was tired of using my x1 or ps4 to watch movies so i just grabbed it for $75 the other day on amazon. it is a smart bluray player although i don't really care about that stuff. the S5100 was highly rated when i got it so i figured i'd just get the successor to it.
