Need advice on BIOS and Driver updates for the 400SC.

I'm installing a new hard drive in my 400SC, and I wanted to take the chance to install the latest drivers for my system. If some experts could answer these questions for me, that would be great.

1. Should I run the Intel Express BIOS update? Will it increase the performance of my system? I don't want to run the risk of ruining my computer if there's no performance boost.

2. What's the difference between the drivers on the unofficial 400SC FAQ and the ones available on Intel's website? Are the ones on www.intel.com newer, or are they the same?
Unofficial 400SC FAQ
Drivers from www.intel.com (875P chipset)

3. Is there any benefit to updating the firmware for the default 48x CD-ROM?

If you can answer even part of a question, please post! Thanks!

1) in general for motherboard bios, you dont really need to update them unless there is an issue that is fixed or cpu/hdd update that is required for newer hardware.(if you still want to update it, i'd use the updated bios directly from dell's support site)

2)Nothing other that the ones on the dell site are the older versions, probably the ones that shipped at the time of the board

3) not really
