I've got a P4 3.0C Processor with the stock heatsink/fan it came with. And to be honest it's much louder than i expected it to be. Every fan in my system is whisper quiet except this one, so i'm trying to figure out where and what to get as a replacement. I'd like either a copper or aluminum microfin heatsink with maybe a 70 or 80mm fan with i'd say no more than like 22-24db noise?

Thanks guys! :)

I quite agree, one of the best P4 heatsinks around and it's almost silent.

Zalman 7000cu is what i got, its pretty quiet, dust is pretty easy to get out, just run your finger from the center to the top edge, like a lint trap in a dryer.

The Zalman 7000 series is my "no brainer" choice for a good and quiet fan. Not the "most quiet" and not the "best cooling" but a good tradeoff for a universal HSF.

I usually don't let my HSF get dirty enough to make a huge difference, but for the little bit of dust that my Zalmans trap, I just remove them and take them outside the house with a can of compressed air. I hold them upside down and squirt some air around through the fins (reverse air flow than normal) and all the dust gets blow out pretty quickly.

the Zalman cleans very well; it comes apart easily looks purty when you're done.

goes with the Zalman and you wont be unhappy; just make sure your mobo can take it (space wise). Silicon Accoustics has the list of mobo's which are compatible
